Academic & Test Prep Tutor
PreK2PhD is an educational consulting firm that empowers students to reach their optimal academic potential, navigates families through the school admissions process, and provides professional developments to disseminate the practical applications of successful academic research. The tutor is a critical factor in influencing positive learning outcomes. Tutors meet with clients in person or online to assist in student test preparation or aid in academic assistance.
We are dedicated to recruiting, retaining, and supporting tutors who are not only masters in their content field, but masters in their ability to communicate content knowledge in a one-on-one setting.
Coordinate and adhere to a scheduled and consistent meeting time the tutoring sessions with students will begin and end.
Maintain punctuality. Arrive promptly at the agreed upon time with all necessary materials needed to carry out one’s duties.
Adequately communicate with students and parents as well as management personnel in regards to professional duties. All communication must be responded to within a 24 hour time period.
Submit tutor session notes summarizing the events and any updates pertaining to student progress within a 24 hour time period of when the tutor session was held.
Create a personalized learning plan for each client based on their current skill/content level, learning goals.
Monitor student progress based on all formative and summative assessments. The individualized learning plan must change based on the student’s academic progress.
The ideal candidates has the following qualifications:
Proficiency with the SAT and ACT or ISEE and SSAT
A bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred)
Strong digital literacy
A willingness to travel and work inside the homes of clients
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent patience
Must be coachable
Previous experience tutoring or teaching preferred
The ability to use web based software to video conference
High moral and ethical standards
A willingness to tutor at least for a four month duration
